Who We Are
How our journey began and what drives our mission to create real change
Our Founding & Focus
One Love We Deliver Charity was established by Dionne Little, who is originally from Jamaica, West Indies and now resides in Maryland. The organization was created in response to the mental health challenges faced by underserved and marginalized communities.
Our primary objectives include addressing mental health concerns within these communities, providing education about the significance of mental health, and raising awareness about the need to eliminate mental illness stigma. By focusing on these critical areas, we strive to foster understanding and acceptance, helping individuals and families overcome barriers to mental wellness.
We are dedicated to offering ongoing mental health and psychosocial support to individuals and families in Maryland, who have been adversely affected. Our continuous efforts ensure that those in need receive the care and resources necessary to support their mental well-being.
Our Mission & Approach
One Love We Deliver Charity Inc. is dedicated to providing sustainable mental health care services with the overarching goal of fostering optimal mental health within the communities we serve. Our approach centers on advocacy and education, recognizing that increased awareness and understanding are crucial steps toward improving mental health outcomes.
We focus our efforts on supporting vulnerable communities, working to increase their knowledge about mental health and its importance. By promoting educational initiatives and open discussions, we aim to empower individuals and families to better understand mental health issues and the resources available to them. Through this emphasis on education and advocacy, we strive to reduce the negative impacts of mental health challenges, thereby contributing to stronger, more resilient communities.
Origins & Inspiration
The origins of One Love We Deliver Charity are deeply rooted in a profound sense of compassion and concern, developed through extensive travels and firsthand experiences in various communities in Baltimore, MD. As a mental health therapist from Jamaica—a third world nation in the Caribbean—I have been able to both observe and conduct research into the far-reaching effects of mental health challenges and mental illnesses among underserved populations.
Research shows the pervasive stigma surrounding mental health is glaringly evident. Many people face stigma quietly, battling its effects alone and apart from others. Immigrants show high rates of misdiagnosis and the harmful labeling of those affected by mental illness across all 50 states. Serving these types of communities has had a significant impact on me and has shaped the mission of this organization. Motivated by this, One Love We Deliver Charity is committed to serving wherever there is a need. Our work is guided by the principles of love, respect, sensitivity, and dignity for our local communities. We extend our assistance through fundraising initiatives, as well as the distribution of food boxes, educational literature, and other vital resources to those in need.
Ongoing Mental Health & Psychosocial Support
At One Love We Deliver Charity, we place a strong emphasis on providing continuous mental health and psychosocial support to those individuals and families who have experienced adverse effects due to various challenges. This ongoing support is a cornerstone of our organization’s work, ensuring that help is not just a one-time intervention but a sustained effort to address the complex needs of our community members.
Our unwavering dedication and commitment inspire us to fulfill our mission of promoting optimal mental health for everyone. By offering inclusive services, we aim to enrich the lifestyles of those we serve and enhance overall community health. Through continuous improvement and a focus on effective mental health and psychosocial support, we strive to create a supportive environment where individuals and families can thrive.
Commitment to Quality & Community Health
One Love We Deliver Charity remains steadfast in its mission to support the mental health and overall well-being of individuals and families throughout Maryland. Our organization is dedicated to continuously assessing and identifying the evolving needs within local communities, ensuring that our programs and services are responsive and effective.
Through ongoing evaluation, we strive to uphold high standards of health care and support, particularly within native and underserved communities. By maintaining this commitment to quality, we aim to foster healthier, more resilient communities and contribute to improved health outcomes for those we serve.
